Barefoot Caribe Hotel & Sobre Las Olas Restaurant

Barefoot Caribe Hotel is located near the beautiful beachfront of Caye Caulker within walking distance to local businesses and the famous island attraction “The Split.” Barefoot Caribe is a the best choice on Caye Caulker for a comfortable stay, with many amenities. Including free WiFi for all guests, refrigerators, Sobre Las Olas restaurant, private swimming area, with waterside service. Six luxurious front suites with private balcony and ocean views. The Barefoot Caribe Hotel also has seven Garden View rooms.

In April, 1988, The Sobre las Olas restaurant was founded by Roger and Suyapa Saldivar. A year after the couple decided they should venture into the hotel business. Barefoot Caribe started off as a six bedroom wooden addition above the restaurant. Few years after they moved Sobre las Olas across the street, on the beach front of Caye Caulker. They specialized in grilled seafood, it was known on the island as the first and only bar & grill restaurant. After several years of success with the small establishment, the business continued to grow. The new buildings were up by 2004, the hotel's name was then changed to Barefoot Caribe. The hotel and restaurant is now managed by the children of Mr. and Mrs. Roger Saldivar.
